Use this converter when your next editing step or upload requires PNG. Both .jpg and .jpeg input files are supported. JPEG orientation is applied to the pixels so a rotated photo keeps its intended direction.
PNG encoding is lossless for the rendered pixels, but conversion cannot recover detail already lost in a JPEG. PNG output may be substantially larger, and converting an opaque JPG does not automatically remove its background.

Does JPG to PNG improve image quality?
It does not restore missing detail or remove JPEG artifacts. It creates a PNG version of the decoded image without adding another lossy JPEG encoding step.
